October 2019 Monthly Auction

Congratulations to J. Nelson who placed the winning bid of $1,500 for September's silent auction painting, "Sunflowers in Bloom", by Grigory P. Matsegora, estimated at $3,000- $4,000.

For this month's auction painting we present "The Music Lesson" by noted Ukrainian artist, Vasily Mikhailovich Sabov. Estimated at $2,500 to $3,500 the current bid is just $750!

Sabov had a unique ability to capture people as well as the beautiful landscapes and village life of his native Ukraine. He considered the most important thing in his art the reflection of life through his own vision. A keen observer of people, Sabov devoted much of his time painting genre portraits. He especially enjoyed spending time with students and these encounters became the inspiration for many of his paintings, including this months auction selection "The Piano Lesson".

A fun new tradition at the TKM Gallery, every month we select a painting and hold a no reserve silent auction.  Over the months there have been some 'steals' and some bidding wars but no matter the outcome, it has been exciting for our Russian art collectors.

You can print the form, and either fax the completed form to (435-658-1730) or send a simple e-mail containing the information on the bid form via e-mail to info@mccartheygallery.net.
